Meet the Original Viral Squashed Frog Door Stopper!
The Story Behind the Design
I invented this unique "under-the-door" design in 2017 out of pure necessity! My son was a "doorstop destroyer," even breaking the heavy rope-knot kind. I wanted to cover a 1kg toning ball to protect my laminate floors from peeling and to ensure the metal filling inside stayed safely contained.
Using green embroidery thread from my mother and a bit of imagination, the Squashed Frog was born. I needed an obstacle on both sides to keep the door propped, so I designed him with a bulging belly on one side and a large, open-mouthed head on the other. He sat quietly on Pinterest for years before going viral, and while there are many copycats now, I am proud to be the original creator of this hilarious, functional concept!
